2008 is the Sesquicentennial Celebration for Mason. The Mason County Chamber of Commerce has current information on attractions and events.

Apple Festival October 4, 2008. Yes, we are putting together plans for the first apple festival in Mason. To be held with a 5k and 10k run, an Arts and Crafts Show, and the annual Old Yeller Day Celebration.

The Mason County Chamber of Commerce has two booklets that give a lot of information on what to see while you are in Mason. The Post Hill Driving Tour ends at the site of Fort Mason , established in1851, which was commanded by General Robert E. Lee immediately prior to the Civil War. The Walking Tour of the Historic Courthouse Square shares history of the town.
